Kent Air conditioning for homes

34° in the

Again.

British houses are built to hold heat in, so when July arrives they do exactly that. Fenwick Climate fits quiet, properly sized air conditioning in homes across Kent. Keep scrolling: the page cools down the way your house will.

30° Why your house traps heat

Built to keep heat in.
Brilliant in January.

Insulation, double glazing and draught-proofing all work in both directions. Once the sun has warmed the rooms, the house holds on to it long after the evening has cooled outside.

Why it's hot, in full →
  • 01Glass is a one-way door. A south or west-facing window lets the sun's heat in all afternoon. Opening it at night lets in a little cool air and a lot of noise.
  • 02Heat rises and stays risen. Loft rooms and top-floor bedrooms sit above everything the house has absorbed all day.
  • 03A fan moves hot air about. It feels better on your skin, but the room stays the same temperature. Air conditioning takes the heat out of the room and puts it outside.

Not to scale. Sadly accurate.

26° The fix

One room. Or the whole house.

Every system we fit is an inverter heat pump: it cools in summer and heats in winter from the same unit, with one outdoor box on the wall. We survey first and size the unit to the room, because a unit that is too big short-cycles and a unit that is too small never catches up.

Compare the systems →
Honest bit

Prices depend on the room, the pipe run and where the outdoor unit can go, so we do not print a price list. We do give you a fixed, written quote after a free survey, and it does not change unless you change the job.

23° Install day

Most single rooms are done
in a day. Here is the day.

The whole day, hour by hour →

01 · Survey

We measure, not guess

Room size, glazing, which way it faces, where the outdoor unit can sit and how the pipes will run. You get a written quote the same day.

02 · Fit

An engineer on a step ladder fixing the outdoor unit onto wall brackets

Brackets, units, pipes

The outdoor unit goes on galvanised brackets, the indoor unit on its plate, and the pipework and drain run in trunking that matches the wall.

03 · Commission

A manifold gauge set and vacuum pump connected to the outdoor unit

Vacuum, pressure test, charge

The system is pulled into a deep vacuum, held, pressure tested and then released, so there is no moisture or air in the lines. That is what makes it last.

04 · Handover

Set to 21°. Shown the controls.

We run it, show you the remote and the app, set a sensible timer and tidy up. Filters take two minutes to clean and we show you that too.

22° Running costs

Less than you think.
Work it out.

Modern inverter units ramp down once the room reaches temperature, so the average draw is far below the number on the label. Drag the slider for a rough figure; your quote shows the real one for your room.

Over a month£45 a month

Electricity used5.6 kWh a day

An estimate for comparison, not a quote. Average draw figures are typical for inverter wall splits once the room is at temperature; the unit works harder for the first half hour and on the hottest afternoons, and less on cooler days. Change the pence figure to match your tariff.

21° What people say Sample reviews

Quiet is the word that keeps coming up.

★★★★★

"Loft bedroom that used to hit 31 degrees. One wall unit, fitted in a morning, and now it's 20 whatever the weather. I'd forgotten what sleeping through the night felt like."

Sample review · Loft bedroom

★★★★★

"Two bedrooms and the office off one outdoor unit. The survey was proper: they measured, talked through where the outdoor unit could go, and the quote didn't move."

Sample review · Multi-split

★★★★★

"Garden office. Froze in it all winter and cooked in it all summer. Now it's the best room we've got, and the running cost is less than the fan heater was."
