Home/Systems
28° Systems
One room.
Or the whole house.
Every system we fit is an inverter heat pump: it cools in summer and heats in winter from the same unit, with one outdoor box on the wall. We survey first and size the unit to the room, because a unit that is too big short-cycles and a unit that is too small never catches up.

27° The four systems
Pick the room. We'll pick the kit.

One room, done in a day
The indoor unit sits high on the wall, the outdoor unit goes on brackets outside, and the pipes run between them in neat trunking. The answer for most bedrooms, home offices and loft rooms.

Several rooms, one outdoor unit
Two to five indoor units running off a single outdoor unit, each room with its own control. Keeps the outside of the house tidy and the planning simple.

Open-plan, out of sight
Set flush into the ceiling with four-way louvres, so a big open-plan room gets even air with nothing on the walls. Needs a ceiling void, which most extensions and offices have.

Warm in January, from the same box
Run in reverse, the same system heats the room, far more efficiently than an electric heater. The answer for loft rooms and garden offices the boiler never quite reaches.
26° Side by side
Which one, at a glance.
| System | Best for | Outdoor units | Typical fit | Needs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wall-mounted split | One room: a bedroom, office or loft | One per indoor unit | One day | An outside wall nearby, or a pipe run of up to about 15 metres |
| Multi-split | Two to five rooms | One for the lot | One to two days | Somewhere to run several pipe sets back to one outdoor unit |
| Ceiling cassette | Big open-plan rooms, offices | One | One to two days | A ceiling void of around 25 cm and access above |
| Heating | Any of the above, in winter | Same unit | Nothing extra | Nothing: every system we fit heats as well as cools |
Prices depend on the room, the pipe run and where the outdoor unit can go, so we do not print a price list. We give you a fixed, written quote after a free survey, and it does not change unless you change the job.
25° Straight answers
Things people ask us.
How big a unit do I need?+
The survey decides, and we size to the room, not to a rule of thumb. Typical sizes are around 2.5 kW for a small bedroom, 3.5 kW for a double bedroom and 5 kW for a living room, but glazing, which way the room faces and how well the house is insulated move those numbers up and down. Too big a unit short-cycles and never dries the air; too small never catches up on the hottest days.
How noisy is it?+
Indoor units on their low fan setting are quiet enough to sleep with; most people forget they are on. The outdoor unit is about as loud as a fridge from a metre away, and we site it away from bedroom windows and neighbours where we can.
Can I have one in a flat?+
Usually, with the freeholder or management company agreeing to the outdoor unit. Some listed buildings and conservation areas need planning permission for an outdoor unit. The survey checks the address before we quote.
What brands do you fit?+
We fit established inverter systems with a UK parts and warranty network. We are not tied to one maker, so the survey picks what suits the room and the budget. Ask Jess or the surveyor for the current options.
Still not sure?
Tell Jess which rooms get too hot and she will talk you through it, or book the free survey and let the engineer decide.
